Construction of Khobi-2 hydroelectric power plant is underway in Lugela gorge in the village of Mukhuri.

20% of the work has already been completed. Arrangement of road infrastructure has been completed.

The foundation for the construction was laid in May 2014. During the construction process, it became easier to connect with places with tourist potential. “Environmental Impact Report on Construction and Operation Project” was prepared and discussed.

TBM is currently being set up. In the coming days, its assembly and tunnel cutting will begin.

The works are carried out by Caucasus Road Project.

The hydropower plant will have a capacity of 41 megawatts and construction will be completed in two years.

The cost of the project is $ 100 million.

Construction is carried out in accordance with special recommendations developed by the Ministry of Health.

Thermoscreening is carried out on the facilities and all safety measures are taken into account in order to comply with the recommendations necessary for the prevention of coronavirus, as well as labor safety conditions.
