Ochkhomuri

O-Chkhom-Uri is part of Lesichine. Chkhom means fish in Megrelian, and Ochkhom means fishing place.

In the picture you can see the old tomb, which dates back to 1888.

The tomb belongs to someone named Khorava, who died at the age of 21. This means that the Khoravas have long lived in Ochkhomur, and are not displaced from other parts of the world.

In the second picture you see the church of St. Barbara, it was built around the 17th century and was destroyed during the communist era. Its ruined face and ruins are preserved in the Chkhorotsku Historical Museum

The village recently restored the shrine … Two dead bodies are buried in the church, both priests: father and son , I heard from the elderly people living in the village that they served in this church in the 18th century. The Khoravas, in ancient times, were priests-deacons, which is confirmed by this church … The tree you see dates back two centuries, and this tomb is at the foot of this tree, the roots (shown in the picture) have been raised on the left side of the tomb. .

Finally, to the right of the church, two hundred meters away, lived a great actor, Akaki Khorava, and on its continuation, I live one kilometer away.

There is a small monument erected by Utu Mikava standing on the left side of the church (he built it with his own hands, if the rebels built it, I don’t know).
