Mikheil (Matsi) Khorava, the greatest representative of modern Georgian painting, was born in 1950 in Ochkhomuri.
1968–1974 He studied at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. From 1975 he worked as an artist at the Zugdidi Porcelain Factory. In 1980 he became a member of the Georgian Artists’ Union.
In 1997, his first solo exhibition was held in Zugdidi, which was followed by numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Georgia and abroad. His works are preserved in the private collections of St. Petersburg, Washington, Istanbul, Paris, Salonia, Cologne and Stuttgart. Mikheil (Matsi) Khorava died in 2005.
